Education Update: Easter Events

By Kirsty

The Easter holidays are a busy time at St Andrews Museum, and this year we were able to join in with the fun! We’ve had two events in the last week- Adorn Me and Buried Bling!

Adorn Me took place on the 9th of April. Our participants helped to decorate our paper giants as well as making some archaeology inspired adornments to take home. Our first paper giant had a full outfit by the end of the session, and our second received a very snazzy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Mask! Meanwhile the activity room was awash with shining swords, shields, necklaces and bracelets.

On the 11th of April we held some exciting archaeological excavations with Buried Bling. Our junior archaeologists took part in a muddy dig, uncovered a mosaic in the deserts sands, and then had a go at creating some mosaics of their own.

If you missed the fun don’t worry! There are plenty more opportunities to join in. This Saturday (18th of April) we are holding a family object handling session. You can get to grips with some archaeological objects, with dressing up and games to boot. And then on the 16th of May we are celebrating the Festival of Museums with a fun craft fair.

Hope to see you soon!

Kirsty
